🐢 Cats rely heavily on movement to identify threats and prey, so an animal that moves at roughly 0.3 miles per hour creates a genuine cognitive glitch. A tortoise essentially does not read as an animal to a cat at first, because nothing in their instincts tells them a rock with legs should be treated as anything in particular.
